Hipster Speed Dating, a multimedia interactive public sculpture, took place July 16th, 2011 at Local Project in Long Island City. Revamping an old mating classic with a darkly twist, the Push Pops Hipster Speed Dating occurred as a spontaneous d.i.y. reality television show hosted in the Local Project gallery space and broadcast on the street via projector live. A subversive feast for the senses and provocative social experiment, the Push Pops took a no holds barred approach to match making as this loosely organized performative spectacle deteriorated into vacillating waves of seduction, intrigue, debauchery and farce. Put your fancy shoes on and cross the bridge as you join the Push Pops at Local Project near PS1 in Long Island City on Saturday July 16th, 2011. Recruiting hipsters of all shapes and sexual orientations to LIC's most radical underground gallery, the Pops revamp an old mating classic with a darkly twist. A d.i.y. Reality Television show broadcast outside the LP space in real time, Hipster Speed Dating is a subversive feast for the senses and provocative social experiment you won't want to write home about.

Cold Womb featuring recent work by the Push Pop Collective will open at Local Project this Saturday July 2 at 7pm. In this unique exhibition, the Push Pops will exhibit for the very first time footage from their two most recent performative sculptures ’Block Watching’ and ’Imaginary Picnic’ as a 5-channel installation alongside physical relics and video documentation of selected past works. Free limited edition posters of all past projects will be available at the opening on a first come first serve basis. And don’t miss the secret interactive community event hosted by the Push Pops on July 16th (more details to come soon)!

Situated adjacent to the PS1 Contemporary Art Center, Cold Womb’s opening party corresponds with PS1’s very first Warm-Up of the season. Shake it off and jerk it cuz we got drinks, fierce ladies, and a DJ all day long!
