Mission Statement

The Push Pops are a radical, transnational queer feminist art collective. Geared toward engendering ‘Embodied Feminism,’ Go! Push Pops employs the female body – that which is bound to a cross-cultural language of desire, signification and power – in tactical, ideological strategy. Go! Push Pops utilize gesture, exclamation and popular idiom to embody a new age discursive physicality interfacing with the ancient archetypal realm. Neo-Dada, Fluxist and Feminist, their performance work posits the body as a danger to the operation of reason and patriarchal economy of lack. A wild leap, an elusive slogan, a paroxysm of the flesh – The Push Pops reinscribe the body through participatory ritual, spontaneous performance and interactive multi-media installation.

Go! Push Pops is very pleased to present a new performance work in collaboration with Natalia Yovane. With the post-hurricane commercial art world looking more like a soggy sunken treasure ship, the Push Pops are kickin' it old school with our first official Feminist Spelling B. We want to make sure you know how to spell works like 'Proto-Matriachy' the next time Nature socks the wind out of your digital insta-spell. This is a participatory event open to all feminish-identified persons (may the best Feminyst win!) Disclaimer: This performance may contain adult content! Every Lezbinist Librarian comes with a hefty dolup of freeaky biatch mayonaisse.

Feminist Spelling B is part of the evening length event 'Performance Anxiety' presented by Ventiko at the Culturefix Gallery

The push pops is happy to release!! Corpse Limb Cult

Corpse Limb Cult
Corpse Limb Cult is a durational performance filmed over several hours under the trees of Forrest Park, Queens in the summer of 2012. A Collaboration with Sharod Andrews, aka Nightcrafts Spellcraft, our beloved Cult Leader, Corpse Limb Cult is a Black Metal, Pagan, Nu-Age, Rainbow illness of an abomination. Corpse Limb Cult explores the past-future where Women are no longer fallow gardens raked over by sexism, linear intellectualism and the sheer greed of global-capitalist designs. Where we woman are the wild nature, and our earth is our matrilineal blessing, our medicine.  We are the bones, the roots and the shadow psyches.
Corpse Limb Cult was released for Go!Brooklyn 2012.
